First Birthday: The Cake

I couldn't have asked for a better cake-eating experience with the girls. My grandfather said it was the funniest thing he'd seen in a long time... and that says a lot.

But, first, the cake.

An egg-less white cake with
a yogurt and cream cheese frosting,
colored with beets!

Elli dove right in.

The initial burger hold.

But, shoveling is faster.

Anni was mostly interested in the frosting.

Being such good girls, they wanted to clean their plates to please their mommy, even though they were obviously very full and tired.
