First, they are obnoxious colors that really ruin the color palette I have going on in my house. Second, they are plastic, and I have issues with eating out of plastics, even if they are BPA free. (That is a story for a different blog.) Third, it has become increasingly difficult to find ones NOT made in China. (I have had a personal trade embargo with China for a few years now. Also, another story for a different blog. However, I do make exceptions for my friends who were made in China. Love you, Jenn!)
So, I handed over real glasses to the girls today. And they did great!
Anni smiles while sipping and Elli says, "Ahhh".
The only downside is that I can now see how much backwash goes into what they drink. All of those food particles that were previously stopped at the sippy cap, are now sliming their way down the insides of the glass, only to get mixed into the drink, rendering it into a smoothie-like form of whatever is happening on their plates. (This brings to mind how mad I used to get when my little brother would get his own soft drink when we went out to sporting events, whilst I was stuck sharing with one of my parents. Now I get it. Sorry, Zack.)
I'll touch poop and boogers with my fingers, but I will NOT be sharing a drink with my girls any time soon.
